DR SARAH BATEUP
Cognitive Behavioural Therapist
I am currently the Chief Clinical Officer at Oliva Health (https://www.oliva.health) but it is important to me to continue to practice as a clinician so I work privately in the North East Lincolnshire area. I am a British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) accredited CBT therapist. I have delivered over 35,000 of CBT both privately and in the NHS and have managed NHS psychological therapies for many years. I am also an experienced lecturer, clinical supervisor and mental health researcher. I have taught at a number of universities in the UK. However, my clinical work, directly with patients, is extremely important to me. I am particularly interested in how to amplify the effect of CBT so that more people get better and stay better.

INITIAL CONSULTATION
CBT is an effective treatment for most common mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD and phobias.  CBT can also help people manage long term physical health conditions, such as chronic pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and diabetes.  Most people find it helpful to arrange an initial consultation, either face to face, over the phone or via email to explore how CBT can help them and to find out a bit more about what treatment would involve. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like to arrange an initial consultation.
PRIVATE COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that has a very strong evidence base. Therapy starts with a comprehensive assessment where you will work with me to understand the nature of your problem, how it started, how it is maintained and get a really good idea about what you would like to get out of therapy. CBT treatments involve learning new techniques and strategies to enable you to achieve your goals. CBT is a bit like piano lessons in that you attend regular sessions and then you practice techniques in your own time. This practice is a really important part of treatment. You can find more information about CBT by visiting www.babcp.com, alternatively please feel to contact me and I will be pleased to answer any questions you might have.
